Hello, I'm Dr Stephens. I'm one of the GPs here at Amicus Health. I'm making a short video today to talk about some of the contraceptive options that we offer as part of the Amicus contraceptive service.
There's a lot of contraceptive options available and our aim is to find the right one for you. These range from shorter-acting options such as pills, to longer-acting reversible options such as the coils and implants. We can also offer options for those who feel that they have completed their family, as we have a vasectomy service here at Amicus Health.
If you think something like the pill might be a good option for you then you can just book for an appointment with any of our GPs. We also offer a designated contraceptive service for the fitting of implants and coils. If you have a coil or an implant that was fitted elsewhere, then we also offer a service for removal or replacement of those.
Another contraceptive option that we offer here at Amicus Health is the Depo injection. If you and your GP think this is a good option for you, then this can be given every three months by our nursing team.
If you have completed your family and you think a vasectomy might be a good option for you, then we'd encourage you to have a further discussion about this with one of our GPs.
In summary, we offer a very wide range of contraceptive options here at Amicus Health and we would really encourage you to book in for a discussion to find out what might be the best option for you.
In this video, Dr Stephens explains the wide range of different options for contraception that are available. Our aim is to find the right option for you.
Condoms can help to reduce infection risks and prevent unplanned pregnancy.
C Card is a free condom issuing scheme for anyone aged 13 to 24, no matter whether you’re having sex, thinking about having sex, or just curious about condoms.
A C-Card is a card similar to a membership card that allows you to get free condoms from participating venues such as pharmacies, youth clubs, sexual health clinics and schools.
Once you have your C Card you will be able to collect free condoms for your own use from any of the participating venues. You will be able to use your C Card a maximum of 10 times. After this, you will need to renew your card.
