Amicus Health was formed in 2017 when Clare House Surgery in Tiverton and Bampton Surgery joined together. By working in partnership we have been able to share valuable resources and knowledge, ensuring both surgeries continue to provide the best possible care for our patients in the long term. The practice remains owned and run by the partners who are all based locally.
The word 'Amicus' means friendly, something we aim for with our patients and staff alike.
We currently provide NHS medical services to over 18,000 patients. All patients who are registered with us will have their own named GP. If your own GP is not available and you need to speak to a doctor, you can book an appointment with any of the GPs at the practice.
We are committed to providing excellent locally based care to our patients. We have a specialist surgical and dermatological service on site. We also run regular diabetes, contraception and joint injection clinics for our patients.
Disabled patients are welcome at both practices with full accessibility, WC facilities and parking.
Amicus Health strives to provide high quality patient care based on carefully evaluated and monitored ethical practices and professional standards. We strive to ensure co-ordination of services with good communication in the practice and in liaison with hospitals and other associated agencies. We seek to ensure patient safety at all times in a relaxed and comfortable environment. We seek to ensure that patients and their carers are welcomed in a courteous and considerate manner, respecting privacy and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Tiverton Primary Care Network
Tiverton Primary Care Network (PCN) is an agreement between Amicus Health and Castle Place Practice which allows us to work together to deliver specific services, focusing on personalised and preventative care.
Some members of staff have roles which are funded by the PCN, rather than by an individual practice. These staff members therefore work across both practices. Our social prescribers and wellbeing coaches are an example of this.
